By far the worst home performance of the season. Utterly toothless.

I only remember one and it was in the last few minutes when we finally looked arsed about scoring. Lemonheigh-Evans at the near post from the corner.

Those were the worst f- corners I've seen for ages, and that lads is saying something. The Evans 'shot' was more a lucky deflection IMHO than an actual attempt but ok so what if it went in? It didn't. Then that daft sod does the same thing twice more. We don't clear the near post :x :x :x
The one 'whipped in' at least we get it in the net even if disallowed.
WHAT THE F- DO THEY WORK ON IN TRAINING IN TERMS OF CORNERS?

And on broader matter what is the tactic that is supposed to be occurring? Nice passing a lot of the time and then nothing when in sight of goal. Miserable, flaccid, clueless. (Even with 'my problems) I can p*ss harder than Gilbey's shot.

Manager said we'd see 'a difference' in his video yesterday or whenever it was. He was economical with the truth.

An annoying result but to be fair Port Vale are clearly a very good side for this level. Imo we looked the better team for most of the game but lack the fitness to maintain control. I’m annoyed but equally not too despondent. Pretty confident will get us sorted soon.

Port Vale looked like they had another gear to go up if they needed to. Seemed to counter attack with ease and their defenders were excellent in the second half, handled pretty much everything thrown at them.

Still, I didn't think they were as good as the top teams last year.

They are a good side and we can only play for 60 minutes per game, so it's going to be a tough day!

Spot on

I thought Vale were quite good, better than us for certain, they were much sharper, more aggressive, better aerially and quick to counter, the majority of our lot had another off day, Kelly was so deep in the second half he looked like part of the back three, some have questioned Nemane, but most of the time when he was in acres of space calling for the ball, he was ignored and the pass was delivered in the opposite direction, Tucker the main culprit of that, but defensively he looks much better.

Gilbey, bless him, will run and run all day, but he looks like he needs a rest before he completely breaks down, something we can do without.

Leigh up top isn’t the answer, looked ok against a pretty crap Harrogate, otherwise meh.

I’m not sure if Hogan actually touched the ball after he came on, Harrison doesn’t look fit but did try.

All hail McGill, without him it would have been a rout, aside from one terrible pass out, he was a colossus
